Eligibility Criteria & Experience Required

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess the following academic and professional qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • A Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University / Institute with at least 55% of aggregate marks (or equivalent Grade) plus two years of work experience.
    • OR A Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University / Institute with at least 55% of aggregate marks (or equivalent) plus four years of work experience.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience working as an advocate or law officer within the Legal Department of the Central or State Government, or any renowned organization, will be preferred.
  • Required Skills:
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
      • Good communication, writing, and teamwork skills.
      • Practical knowledge of handling Right to Information (RTI) cases within a public authority.
    • Candidates with personal flexibility, high motivation, and good rapport-building skills in both Hindi and English will have an added advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities

The selected Legal Officer will be responsible for ensuring the best legal action is taken by the Institute. Key duties include:

  • Providing legal support and representing the University in specific Civil/Criminal litigation matters.
  • Handling and processing work related to the RTI matters of the Institute.
  • Guiding the administration on the legal aspects of staff engagements and project contracts.
  • Representing the administration as the member secretary for the Committee against Sexual Harassment (CASH) within the university.
  • Vetting Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and drafting standard agreements.

Salary & Contract Details

  • Remuneration: The selected candidate will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 80,000/- per month (commensurate with educational qualifications and work experience).
  • Duration: The appointment is initially for a period not exceeding one year. The contract is extendable based on the candidate’s performance and the ongoing requirements of the Institute.
