About the Job

The Legal Research Editor will lead the editorial development and maintenance of Indian legislative content for LexisNexis platforms. This role ensures accuracy, currency, and usability of statutory material, while embedding AI-first workflows to deliver innovative, scalable solutions. The position combines deep legal expertise with editorial excellence to meet customer needs and advance the rule of law. 

Eligibility

• Law degree (LLB or equivalent) 
• Admission to practice in India (desirable) 
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in legal research, legislative drafting, or editorial roles. 
• Strong understanding of Indian legislative processes and statutory interpretation. 
• Experience in legal publishing or digital content management. 
• Familiarity with AI technologies, large language models, and prompt engineering. 
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and collaborative product development. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and XML; comfort with emerging technologies. 

Responsibilities

Content Development and Quality 

• Curate, edit, and maintain Indian legislation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with editorial standards. 
• Analyse legislative changes and implement timely updates across digital platforms. 
• Apply structured editorial processes to optimise content for AI-enabled workflows and advanced search functionality. 

AI-First Integration 

• Champion adoption of AI tools for summarisation, classification, and enrichment of legislative content. 
• Collaborate with technology teams to embed automation and agentic content platforms into editorial workflows. 
• Contribute to structured data models and metadata to enhance discoverability and usability. 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

• Work closely with global editorial operations, product managers, and technology partners to align content strategy with business objectives. 
• Act as subject matter expert on Indian legislation for product development and customer solutions. 

Research and Analysis 

• Monitor legislative developments, conduct legal research, and interpret statutory changes for accurate editorial application. 
• Troubleshoot complex content issues and deliver solutions that improve customer experience.
